Junior (U19) Rowers
The Legion of Rowers support Juniors selected to race for New Zealand at the World Junior Rowing Championships each year. We like the 'synergy' of masters supporting up-coming youth rowers; Legion members' annual dues are used to create a fund which supports this initiative. If you're reading this and want to join the Legion to help us to continue to support Junior Rowing, join the Legion here. It costs each athlete between over $10,000 to participate. The actual amount varies each year depending on location. Rowing New Zealand contributes to these costs, but is not able to cover them all. The Legion of Rowers has been supporting juniors for decades. With the bulk of our financial members having allegiances to North Island rowing clubs, and their schools, all North Island rowers selected for the Juniors squad are eligible to apply for funding.
