Allan Vester

U19 Junior Awards

With over three decades of experience, my involvement in rowing started with a single student's inquiry at Karamu High School. That spark led to a lifelong commitment to the sport, including establishing the rowing program at Edgewater College and coaching at the Masters level.

As Head Coach at Macleans College, I focus on the holistic development of our athletes. While the competitive nature of regattas is part of the job, my true reward is working with students who embrace the discipline the sport requires. I strive to foster an environment where 'doing your best' is the primary goal, ensuring the benefits of rowing—teamwork, resilience, and enjoyment—are accessible to everyone, regardless of the results on the water.

Trish Fenton

Regattas

Rowing began taking over my life in 1997 when I joined Los Gatos Rowing Club where I rowed and competed in California for my Novice season.

My husband Evan Snyder and I moved to Auckland in 1999 and joined St Georges in 2000 where we remain active rowing, coaching and past committee members. My main focus is running our Learn to Row and Buddy Rowing programs.

I have been with the Legion for about 10 years, focused on our Masters Regattas and have been the Lead since 2023 (or 2024 - can't remember).

Rowing still runs my life; I have met amazing people, been to some fantastic events - both at home and overseas - and had some incredible rowing associated holidays.
